The home’s architecture already carried a strong presence, with stonework and rich wood accents throughout setting a warm tone for the space from the start. Rather than altering what was already there, the design approach focused on enhancing those elements while introducing a few intentional moments that bring both function and character to the room including a custom brass fire screen spanning nearly six feet to highlight the scale and texture of the masonry fireplace, a quiet reading nook created by an oversized articulating sconce and leather sling chairs positioned to take advantage of the surrounding views, and a custom bar with hand-cut solid walnut doors that add warmth and craftsmanship to the space.
While the work was underway, the homeowners left for a two-week vacation and returned to a fully completed space thoughtfully installed, styled, and ready to be enjoyed.
Mountain Lodge Retreat
Originally a builder-basic lower level, this space was reimagined as a warm and welcoming living room through the introduction of architectural character and layered materials. Floor-to-ceiling linen drapery softened the space, while a plaster accent wall, picture moulding, and a tongue-and-groove ceiling with pine beams introduced warmth and depth.
Lighting was thoughtfully reimagined to shape the atmosphere of the room, with a series of sconces including sculptural alabaster fixtures and a brass articulating sconce that highlights the work of a local artist, infusing the space with personality and quiet distinction.
The homeowners left for a three-week vacation before work began and returned to a fully finished space, transformed from what was once an ordinary room into one that feels warm, layered, and deeply personal.
Layered Living Space
This refined, full-home transformation was designed around a soft, muted palette and layered timeless finishes. This project included a primary bedroom, powder room, living room, and dining room, with each space thoughtfully layered to feel cohesive, elevated, and quietly luxurious. By focusing on subtle contrasts, rich textures, and classic detailing, the result is a home that feels both sophisticated and effortlessly livable.
